Three Rivers Ranch Outfitters

At the end of the day, we are a fly shop. The kind of place where the coffee is on, the floors have seen some wet waders, and somebody behind the counter has already fished the river you are asking about.

We are Idaho born and still family owned, now into our 5th generation working at the ranch. You will find our fly shops in Boise, Ashton, Driggs, and Island Park, sitting within striking distance of the waters that keep people coming back for a lifetime.

We guide the rivers we actually fish on our days off: the Henry’s Fork, South Fork of the Snake, Teton River, Owyhee, and Grande Ronde. If you need a new rod, a few flies that really work, a last minute guide, or just an honest report, we are here for that.

If you are nearby, step into one of our shops and talk fishing. If you are not, our online store is open 24/7 with gear we trust and actually use.

Three Rivers Ranch Outfitters, for anglers who care about the water they fish and the gear they use.

What We Do.

First and foremost, we are a fly fishing lodge.

Three Rivers Ranch sits in Eastern Idaho, about 16 miles from Yellowstone Park, tucked into the kind of country that ruins you for anywhere else. We were the first Orvis Endorsed Lodge back in 1974, and somewhere along the way we picked up Orvis Lodge of the Year, but what matters most is that the fishing still lives up to the sign on the driveway.

We are licensed to take you on the rivers people dream about: the Henry’s Fork of the Snake, the South Fork of the Snake, the Teton, the Madison, Henry’s Lake, Hebgen Lake, and more than a dozen other blue ribbon waters in Eastern Idaho, Yellowstone Park, and Montana. If you want to know what it feels like to fish some of the best rivers in the world, this is where you start.

We run guided fly fishing trips on the waters we actually believe in. Our guides are licensed to take you fishing across Eastern Idaho, Yellowstone Park, Montana, Western Idaho, and into Oregon, on some of the best trout rivers in the world.

You can meet your guide at any of our five fly shop locations — Driggs, Island Park, Ashton, Eagle, or right at Three Rivers Ranch. From there, it is waders on, cooler in the truck, and off to whatever stretch is fishing best that day.

We have four full service fly shops throughout Idaho: Eagle/Boise, Driggs, Island Park, Ashton and at our lodge. Each shop carries a full selection of dry flies, nymphs, and streamers catering to the surrounding rivers and lakes. Our Eagle Fly Shop and our Driggs Fly Shop also carries some saltwater patterns for anglers traveling to the flats around the world. We carry all top fly fishing brands and can place phone orders to get them to your door.

We carry: Patagonia, Orvis, Sage, Simms, Montana Fly Company, 208 Hats, 3-Tand, Abel, Action Optics, Airflo, Arc, Beyond Coastal, Buff, Chums, Clutch, Columbia, DeYoung, Fish Pimp, Free Fly Apparel, Gear Keeper, Greys, Hardy, Hareline Dubbin, Hatch, Kelty, Korkers, Loon, Loop, McNett, Measure Nets, Nautilus, Nucast, Peak Fishing, Rep Your Water, Rio, Ross, Sanuk, Sawyer, Scientific Anglers, Scott Fly Rods, Temple Fork Outfitters, Smith, Waterworks Lamson & more.

We run our guide school once a year in the fall, for people who have always wondered what it would be like to row the boat instead of just ride in it. If you have ever wanted to become a guide or just take your fly fishing a few steps past “weekend competent,” this is your chance.

You will learn the whole business from working Three Rivers Ranch guides – the knots and drifts, sure, but also the boat ramps, the bad weather days, the shore lunches, and how to keep someone smiling when they just missed the fish of their life.

If that sounds like your kind of education, contact us or Call (208) 939-6065 for more info.

Our Promise

We love fly fishing, obviously. We love questions, the simple ones and the ones that start bar fights. We love the kind of customer service where someone remembers your name and what line you fish. We love going the extra mile if it means you fish better water or throw a cleaner loop.

We love showing you how, whether you are tying your first clinch knot or arguing over 5X versus 4X. We love beginners who are still trying to figure it out and expert anglers who pretend they already have. We love good gear, good rivers, and the customers who keep coming back with wet nets and new stories.

Best place for your fly fishing needs – amazing selection of fishing gear, clothing and accessories! Not to mention they have the most knowledgeable employees! #1 in Idaho!

Three Rivers Ranch, Fly Fishing Outfitters Founded 1928

Three Rivers Ranch goes back to the 1920s, when Fred and Berta Lewies homesteaded a little piece of ground in Warm River, Idaho and started looking after the anglers and tourists drifting out of Yellowstone Park. It was a small Eastern Idaho business then, built on good fishing and simple hospitality.

A hundred years later, we are still here doing much the same thing — welcoming people who like cold rivers, wild trout, and seeing a bit of Idaho the way it’s meant to be seen.

South Fork Snake River Guide Service

The South Fork of the Snake is one of the best tailwaters in the lower 48, and it usually knows it. This branch of the river starts up near Palisades Dam and runs down to its meeting with the Henry’s Fork (the North Fork) of the Snake in Menan, cutting through country that will ruin you for most other places.

Cutthroat trout are the native locals here, with plenty of rainbow, brown trout, and whitefish mixed in to keep things interesting. We run guided day trips on the South Fork, as well as a two-day overnight glamping trip for those who want to fish the canyon stretch and fall asleep to the sound of the river instead of traffic.
